Our program brochures are grouped into three main categories: 

• ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Faculty-Led Programs: These brochures are for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ "in-house" programs that feature ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ courses taught by ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ faculty. Only ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ students are eligible to participate in these programs. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Faculty-Led Programs are denoted with an asterisk (*) and are listed at the top of the brochure page (*London Spring Break, *CDI in Costa Rica Summer, etc.).

• Exchange Programs: These brochures are for study abroad exchange programs with ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ educational partners from across the globe. If you're interested in studying at Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan or Chonnam National University in South Korea, these are the program brochures for you. Exchange Programs are denoted with a hyphen (-) followed by the exchange university's name (-Doshisha University).

• Third-Party Provider Programs: These brochures are for study abroad programs run by our third-party providers. These providers include: CCSA, CEA CAPA, GLO (formerly IBS), (Univ of Evansville), ISA, KIIS, TEAN (World Strides), , (UW-River Falls), and USAC. These programs are listed alphabetically by provider and follow the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Faculty-Led and Exchange program brochures.

Note: Brochures with an asterisk (*) at the end of the program name (KIIS Austria*, CCSA London Winter*, etc.) indicate a program on which a ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ faculty member or staff member is scheduled to participate.

Attend an open advising session

If you have general questions about studying abroad or don't know where to start your search, come to one of our open advising sessions. These sessions take place during the school year every Monday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 11 a.m. in 135 Blackburn Science Building. You can drop by one of these sessions at any stage of the application process—no appointment needed.

If you aren't able to make it to an open advising session, please feel free to stop by the office during the week to talk with a member of the Education Abroad team.

Meet with an EA advisor

If you need help narrowing down your options or have specific concerns not covered in an open advising session, consider meeting with an Education Abroad advisor to get more information. 

Before your advising appointment, please do the following:

• Familiarize yourself with available programs - use the website to identify which programs you might be interested in discussing with the advisor. You should consider program location, length, timing, and available courses when researching programs. It is also important to factor in how your major or minor would benefit from such a course or program.

• Limit your options - select a few programs that interest you and appear to meet your academic and personal goals. Think about any personal requirements you may have for your study abroad experience, such as the ability to obtain language fluency while abroad.

When you're ready to discuss your options, reach out to our office to set an appointment with an Education Abroad advisor. Please include a short list of possible programs in your email so the advisor can prepare any relevant information prior to your appointment.

Apply for a program

Once you've found a program that meets all of your criteria, start an application using the brochure for that program. You will be asked to provide general information about yourself and your academic career during the application process. The application also includes several short-answer questions as well as a small personal statement about what you're hoping to achieve by participating in a study abroad program. Please reference the Dates and Deadlines and the Policies and Procedures webpages for assistance in answering the short-answer questions in the application.

At the end of the application you will have the ability to apply for Education Abroad scholarships by completing a few additional questions and providing a response to an essay question. You are not obligated to apply for scholarships in order to apply for the program. However, once the application has been submitted, you cannot go back and apply for scholarships.

There is a $100 program application fee that must be paid in order to submit your program application. The application fee is nonrefundable and must be paid in full via credit or debit card through .

Post-acceptance responsibilities

Once you've been approved to participate in a study abroad program, you will be required to complete a variety of additional forms and documents to prepare for your upcoming international experience. These tasks and forms will be added to your ViaTRM account and you will be required to submit all documentation by the relevant due dates. You will also be required to attend a study abroad orientation that will provide you with specific details about your program, including how to respond in an emergency, how to remain safe and healthy while abroad, and how to maximize your learning inside and out of the classroom. Family members are welcome to attend orientation with you.
